I'm a Finalist - AGAIN!
To be honest, it was a surprise for me to learn that I won two more finalist awards for Beneath the Blue. Yeah, I had forgotten that I had entered and hadn't saved the paperwork. This is typical 'me' behavior, and fortunately, this time, it was a great surprise and not an 'oh no, what do I do now?'
Again, it's more validation of the quality of my writing. I never need to be the best writer out there, and I know that I'm not, but it's reassuring to know that the level of quality I've been striving for is there.
I can say with confidence that if you haven't read The Crustacean Chronicles trilogy, it's a fun read. And it doesn't matter if you're an adult. Imagine you are reading a story like Charlotte's Web. It's clean and entertaining, like that.
Dive into the thrilling world of the ocean with "Beneath the Blue," the third book in the Crustacean Chronicles series. Claudia is devastated when she doesn't win the Sand Sculpture Competition, especially since her rivals, Charlie and Chuck, take home the coveted trophy.
But when the trophy responds to Chuck in a way she couldn't have imagined, Claudia is determined to learn the truth about the mysterious compass. On her quest, she faces unexpected obstacles and learns from King Triton himself the depths of the ancient prophecy. As she delves deeper, she is forced to confront the truth within her own heart.
Can Claudia, Charlie, and Chuck work together to overcome mysterious challenges and bring balance back to the ocean? Fans of adventure and fantasy will love this riveting tale of mystery, determination, and friendship. For ages 8-12.

Tall Girl Publishing Newsletter May 18, 2026 I'm a Finalist! In the awards world, a finalist is like landing in the top 2-5% of the competition. They announce a winner and about 5-6 finalists. So, hey, I'll take it! The most meaningful part of earning this finalist award is that strangers in the book world think my writing is worthy of this level of recognition. Dive into the thrilling world of the ocean with "Beneath the Blue," the third book in the Crustacean Chronicles series. Claudia is...

Tall Girl Publishing Newsletter March 16, 2026 First Show of 2026! As I finished my first show for 2026, I reflected on my very first show in the Spring of 2022. The pandemic was winding down, and people were starting to get back into their regular routines. For that first show, I had one published book, "The Snail That Wanted To Hop!" I was so excited that night because I had sold 11 copies! This gave me a lot of confidence and motivated me to publish the next one. From October of 2019 until...
