Pacific Northwest
Every year I travel back to where I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. Specifically, Mount Vernon, Washington, which is an hour north of Seattle.
This trip was packed with visiting family, working with Erica DeWaard on her first book signing event as well as planning her publishing schedule for the year, and attending my 40th high school class reunion.

Christmas in July
Whenever I travel, I like to take a tote of books along with me to give away to random kids that I meet at gas stations, parking lots, or anywhere I am staying. During this trip, I ran into a group of girls just ready to travel home after their vacation. They were excited for their Christmas in July experience!

In this section, I've featured authors who are promoting one of my books in their newsletters. I am doing likewise. Please take a moment to read about their books.
A free printable for tired parents: a calm, one-page bedtime routine your little one can follow and tick off themselves. Lamp low, blanket up, a last look at the stars. Knowing what comes next is one of the quiet things that helps under-fives settle, so this gentle checklist turns the wind-down into something they can do with you, not something you have to chase.
It comes from the world of Lantern Path Books, our independent Australian imprint of calm bedtime picture books for ages 2 to 5. Print it, pop it on the fridge, and let the last part of the day feel a little softer.
A Sister for Me is a sweet, rhyming children’s storybook that celebrates the magic of sisterhood. With giggles, games, and endless fun, two sisters share their days side by side — making memories that sparkle with love.
Through playful rhymes and charming illustrations, this heartwarming tale shows how sisters grow together, then find their own paths, while the bond between them remains forever.
Perfect for ages 3–8, this book is ideal for bedtime reading, sibling bonding, or as a thoughtful gift. Parents and children alike will treasure A Sister for Me as a timeless reminder that sisters may grow apart, but their love never fades.

Tall Girl Publishing Newsletter July 13, 2026 Publisher/Presentor This summer, I took my late grandmother's advice to "keep your calendar full." Her philosophy was that if you keep your calendar full, you'll look back on your life with no regrets. However, I'm inclined to add one amendment: "while making sure your life is balanced." Even though balance is sometimes challenging, I feel this has been accomplished. My calendar has been filled with Library visits, library presentations, vendor...
Tall Girl Publishing Newsletter June 15, 2026 I'm a Finalist - AGAIN! To be honest, it was a surprise for me to learn that I won two more finalist awards for Beneath the Blue. Yeah, I had forgotten that I had entered and hadn't saved the paperwork. This is typical 'me' behavior, and fortunately, this time, it was a great surprise and not an 'oh no, what do I do now?' Again, it's more validation of the quality of my writing. I never need to be the best writer out there, and I know that I'm...
Tall Girl Publishing Newsletter May 18, 2026 I'm a Finalist! In the awards world, a finalist is like landing in the top 2-5% of the competition. They announce a winner and about 5-6 finalists. So, hey, I'll take it! The most meaningful part of earning this finalist award is that strangers in the book world think my writing is worthy of this level of recognition. Dive into the thrilling world of the ocean with "Beneath the Blue," the third book in the Crustacean Chronicles series. Claudia is...
