Summer Vacation!

My husband and I took a trip of a lifetime this summer by riding our motorcycles to the Pacific Northwest in Washington State. For those of you who don't know, Washington State is where I was born and lived until I left for college in Iowa. I return to visit my mom and a handful of relatives every year, but this year was extra special when we arrived on motorcycles!

New Book Launch!

Book Three in The Crustacean Chronicles

Available NOW!

Dive into the thrilling world of the ocean with "Beneath the Blue," the third book in the Crustacean Chronicles series. Claudia is devastated when she doesn't win the Sand Sculpture Competition, especially when her rivals Charlie and Chuck take home the coveted trophy.

But when the trophy responds to Chuck in a way she couldn't have imagined, Claudia is determined to learn the truth about the mysterious compass. On her quest, she faces unexpected obstacles and learns from King Triton himself the depths of the ancient prophecy. As she delves deeper, she is forced to confront the truth within her own heart.

Specifically, Mount Vernon, Washington, which is an hour north of Seattle. This trip was packed with visiting family, working with Erica DeWaard on her first book signing event as well as planning her publishing schedule for the year, and attending my 40th high school class reunion. Tall Girl Publishing Newsletter July 13, 2026 Publisher/Presentor This summer, I took my late grandmother's advice to "keep your calendar full." Her philosophy was that if you keep your calendar full, you'll look back on your life with no regrets. However, I'm inclined to add one amendment: "while making sure your life is balanced." Even though balance is sometimes challenging, I feel this has been accomplished. My calendar has been filled with Library visits, library presentations, vendor...

Award-Winning Author

Tall Girl Publishing Newsletter June 15, 2026 I'm a Finalist - AGAIN! To be honest, it was a surprise for me to learn that I won two more finalist awards for Beneath the Blue. Yeah, I had forgotten that I had entered and hadn't saved the paperwork. This is typical 'me' behavior, and fortunately, this time, it was a great surprise and not an 'oh no, what do I do now?' Again, it's more validation of the quality of my writing. I never need to be the best writer out there, and I know that I'm...
